Stability analysis of continuous-time periodic systems via the harmonic analysis

چکیده
Asymptotic stability of finite-dimensional linear continuous-time periodic (FDLCP) systems is studied by the harmonic analysis. It is first shown that stability can be examined with what we call the harmonic Lyapunov equation. Another necessary and sufficient stability criterion is developed via this generalized Lyapunov equation, which reduces the stability test into that of an approximate FDLCP model whose transition matrix can be determined explicitly. By extending the Gerschgorin theorem to linear operators on the linear space , yet another disc-group criterion is derived, which is only sufficient. Stability of the lossy Mathieu equation is analyzed as a numerical example to illustrate the results.

متن کاملDynamic Stability Analysis of a Beam Excited by a Sequence of Moving Mass Particles
In this paper, the dynamic stability analysis of a simply supported beam carrying a sequence of moving masses is investigated. Many applications such as motion of vehicles or trains on bridges, cranes transporting loads along their span, fluid transfer pipe systems and the barrel of different weapons can be represented as a flexible beam carrying moving masses. The periodical traverse of masses...
متن کاملA Software for Prediction of Periodic Response of Non-linear Multi Degree of Freedom Rotors Based on Harmonic Balances
It is the purpose of this paper to introduce a computer software that is developed for the analysis of general multi degree of freedom rotor bearing systems with non-linear support elements. A numerical-analytical method for the prediction of steady state periodic response of large order nonlinear rotor dynamic systems is addressed which is based on the harmonic balance technique. By utilizing ...
متن کاملStability Analysis of a Strongly Displacement Time-Delayed Duffing Oscillator Using Multiple Scales Homotopy Perturbation Method
In the present study, some perturbation methods are applied to Duffing equations having a displacement time-delayed variable to study the stability of such systems. Two approaches are considered to analyze Duffing oscillator having a strong delayed variable. The homotopy perturbation method is applied through the frequency analysis and nonlinear frequency is formulated as a function of all the ...
متن کاملHarmonic Analysis of Linear Continuous-Time Periodic Systems
In this thesis, plants that are described by finite-dimensional linear continuous-time Periodic (FDLCP) differential equations are examined via the harmonic analysis. That is, the control system concerned has a linear continuous-time state-space realization with a finitedimensional state vector and the system matrices are periodic with respect to the time variable. The well-developed Fourier se...
